@derek and @nate
Are you trying to view "my_sounds" folder from the phone? I don't think you'll see it there. If you don't see it while plugged in your computer, try creating the folder. Maybe it creates that folder on first use. For example, add some sound as a ringtone or alarm in your phone. Maybe then it will auto create that folder. But I'd just make it myself from the computer. Just manually create "my_sounds", "my_flix", and "my_music" folders when you are in USB Mass Storage mode.

I just tested it once more. I used the USB Mass STorage option in Tools, then opened the folder in Windows and copied a few MP3's into the my_sounds folder. They showed up in the phone just fine. Now, my mp3 files were small, just large enough for a ring tone or alarm, so it wasn't a full mp3 song.

Maybe you're mp3 specs are not supported by the phone? Like if you have 320Kbps bitrate mp3 file. Just guessing, maybe this isn't the issue. Maybe the encoder you used?

Also, if you want to add music or video, you want to use the other folders: my_music and my_flix.

I'm having the same problem as omar - I put it into my "My_Sounds" folder via the USB mass storage option, but when I view "my sounds", it's not there. Are you sure it works with mp3s? All the default "my sounds" are midi files.

You can buy microsd's cheap from Newegg.com and Meritline.com. Stick to popular retailers and don't buy stuff that's too good to be true because it's most likely a fake. 8GB MicroSD should be around $20 right now (8.8.09).

OMG! I wish I knew that before!!! You see, by default when you plug in your USB cable, you only get access to the music. Which isn't correct if you want to add movies or ringtones. Just so happened that last night I was messing around with settings and saw in the Tools menu that there is a "USB Mass Storage" option. ARGH! That is so much easier!!! Ok, so everyone... just to that and don't worry about the whole SD Card thing.

Use your phone as a mass storage, and access it through your computer. Works the easiest... just use the USB/power cord.
